A Day in the Park

A Day in the Park returns to Miller Ecological Park in Lebanon, Ohio on November 7th for its third year as a USTAF certified timed event featuring both 24-hour and new 6-hour options. This annual race takes place at Miller Ecological Park, located along Miller Road near downtown Lebanon, offering scenic views of the park throughout each lap.
On race morning, participants will encounter firm yet slightly soft trail conditions suitable for running long distances without excessive fatigue or discomfort. The temperature is expected to be mild with low UV index levels, providing comfortable weather that minimizes sun exposure risks while maintaining an environment conducive to endurance racing efforts.
The event has grown in popularity over the past two years, attracting runners from across Ohio and neighboring states who come together for a shared love of ultra-distance running. A Day in The Park supports local initiatives by Empower Ultras, which is dedicated to promoting inclusivity among all types of athletes through its high-quality events.
Miller Ecological Park serves as both the starting point and finish line area where runners can set up tents along the course perimeter while enjoying access to a central aid station offering continuous meals and snacks throughout their journey. The park’s loop measures exactly one mile in length, characterized by flat terrain with minimal elevation changes on crushed gravel surfaces.
Weather conditions for November 7th are forecasted to be mild, with trail conditions described as firm but slightly soft underfoot. UV index levels will remain low at around 2.0 (Low), ensuring a comfortable environment for participants without significant sun exposure risks during the race day.
A Day in The Park offers runners two main options: a full-day 24-hour challenge and an introductory six-hour event designed to attract first-time ultrarunners or marathoners looking to dip their toes into longer-distance racing.
