9ª CAMINHADA ECOLÓGICA FORTE ITAIPU

On November 28, 2026, the Associação dos Amigos da Fortaleza de Itaipu invites runners and walkers to experience the unique blend of history and nature at the Fortaleza de Itaipu in Praia Grande, Brazil. Organized by SBS Sports Ltda., this event features an 8-kilometer walk that combines urban streets with a scenic route through the military complex's lush Atlantic Forest.
Participants will start from Praça Duque de Caxias and follow guided directions along Rua Gaspar Viana to access the historic Fortaleza de Itaipu. The course includes both paved roads surrounded by dense vegetation and sections with gentle inclines, offering a moderate challenge for all fitness levels. Walkers can expect breathtaking views of the Atlantic Forest as they pass near the imposing Forte Duque de Caxias.
In addition to the adult walk, children aged 2-14 have their own fun-filled race on the beachfront at Av. Marechal Mallet, with distances tailored by age group: from a short sprint for toddlers to a longer dash for older kids. Parents are advised to arrive early and follow instructions carefully before the start.
