963 Beulah Challenge

On February 6, 2027, runners will gather for the 10th Anniversary of the 963 Beulah Challenge at Greensfelder County Park in Western St. Louis County, Missouri. This community-focused race offers a unique blend of trail running and conservation efforts, with all proceeds benefiting Gateway Off-Road Cyclists (GORC) to support local trail maintenance.
The course is set on the scenic 4.2-mile Beulah Loop at Greensfelder Park, featuring rugged terrain with significant elevation changes—397 feet up and down per loop—that challenge runners through rocky single-track trails under the glow of headlamps. Participants can choose from three timed events: a grueling nine-hour race covering approximately 50K over eight loops; a six-hour event spanning about 25.2 miles in six loops; or a shorter but no less intense three-hour run, totaling around 12.6 miles across three loops.
Registration fees are kept affordable to ensure accessibility for all runners, and the race offers unique opportunities such as matching donations made during registration towards trail improvement initiatives. No frills like medals or post-race meals make this event a purist's dream, focusing solely on the runner experience and community spirit.
Race day check-ins begin at 2 PM with start times staggered throughout the evening to accommodate each race category. Aid stations are limited but well-stocked at the Beulah Shelter, which also serves as the starting line and finish area. Runners should come prepared without expecting crew support or pacers due to space constraints.
Join a dedicated group of trail runners committed not only to pushing personal limits but also contributing positively to local conservation efforts. The 963 Beulah Challenge promises an unforgettable night run through Missouri’s scenic trails, fostering connections and supporting vital community projects.
