RegisterWelcome to Sevierville, Tennessee—where the mountains are smoky, the people are friendly, and Dolly Parton watches over us all (literally, she’s a statue downtown).
Whether you're a local or just popping in for the biscuits and mountain views, we’ve got a race you’re going to fall for—even though it happens in the spring. It’s our favorite kind of seasonal confusion! The Downtown Sevierville 5K is back, and this year it's packed with hometown charm, community spirit, and just the right amount of sparkle.
Hosted by the Sevierville Commons Association (aka the people who keep downtown delightful), this event starts and finishes right in front of the iconic Sevier County Courthouse, where you’ll find Dolly herself (or a beautiful bronze semblance thereof) rooting you on. And if you really want to strut your stuff, we’re giving a special award to the most spirited attire, so don’t hold back. Sequins, wigs, and feather boas? Highly encouraged.
Yes, you can bring your whole crew—strollers are welcome, and well-behaved, leashed dogs can join the fun too. Make it a full-on Smoky Mountain weekend getaway!
THE COURSE:
This is a 100% road race with a flat, scenic 5K route that winds through downtown streets and greenways. You’ll be safe and sound thanks to the Sevier County Police Department handling road closures. Start and finish line? Right in front of the Courthouse. It’s basically our version of Times Square.
GIVEAWAYS:
Every 5K runner gets a T-shirt and goodie bag loaded with local flair.
T-shirt sizes are limited, so sign up early—orders close February 28!
(Yes, there will be kids T-shirts for the kids’ 1-mile participants—but you must order in advance.)
AWARDS:
Top 3 overall male and female finishers in the 5K will be recognized like the local legends they are. We’ve also got age group awards in 10-year brackets:
<19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+
Kids’ 1-Mile participants will each get a special finisher gift at the end—because every kid deserves a prize for showing up and having fun.
THE DETAILS:
Restrooms? Yup. Portable potties near the start/finish.
Water stops? At mile 1.5—stay hydrated, friends.
Parking? Plenty! There’s a large gravel lot across from the Sevierville Fire Station Downtown, a new paved lot on the Parkway across from Cash’s Hardware and katty-corner to the Sevier County Heritage Museum, and a big gravel lot on Court Avenue across from Pinchey’s Lobster and Beer.
RUN WITH PURPOSE:
All proceeds go straight to the Sevierville Commons Association, supporting our mission to uplift local businesses, spark creativity, fund public art (hello, murals!), and make our downtown more vibrant for everyone.
Not much of a runner? No sweat—you can still support the cause by donating at the top of this page.
Not a runner? Not a problem. We fully support shirt-motivated participation. Maybe your cardio routine consists of chasing your dog around the yard or briskly walking to the fridge during commercial breaks—we respect that. If you just want a soft, stylish T-shirt that screams “I was almost athletic today,” we've got you covered. Sign up, snag your tee, and proudly wear it while sipping coffee and cheering from the sidelines. No sweat required (literally).
Got questions? Want to sponsor the event?

Sevierville is a city in eastern Tennessee. Pronounced "Severe-ville" and named after Colonel John Sevier after his successful campaign in running off the Cherokee inhabitants around 1780, Sevierville was surprisingly anti-secessionist and abolitionist up to and during the Civil War but ended up being pillaged quite badly. Nowadays it is a tourist mecca for those en route to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or paying homage to Dolly Parton's hometown, or one of the many other attractions.
