7TH ANNUAL 9/11 RUCK TO REMEMBER

On September 12, 2026, the University of Michigan Army ROTC invites runners and supporters alike to participate in its 7th Annual Ruck to Remember. This poignant event covers a distance of 9.11 miles, honoring those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Participants will carry weighted rucksacks as they traverse the scenic routes around Ann Arbor, symbolizing the burdens carried by service members and first responders in times of crisis. The course is designed to challenge both mind and body, offering a reflective journey that honors sacrifice while fostering community resilience.
The Ruck to Remember features an emotional pre-race ceremony with speeches from military personnel, survivors, and family members who have lost loved ones on 9/11. This event not only commemorates the past but also serves as a powerful reminder of unity and strength in the face of adversity.
Runners will experience a mix of paved roads and trails that wind through historic neighborhoods and parklands, providing breathtaking views and moments for personal reflection along the way.
