6th Dali Binchuan Jizu Mountain Trail Race 2026 (2026年第六届大理宾川鸡足山越野跑大赛)
About the Event
Starting from the central plaza of Jizu Mountain Township in Binchuan County, Dali, Yunnan on August 22, this race offers four categories: 41K "Chasing Light in the Holy Realm," 26K "Tracing Huashou's Steps," 12K "Wandering the Sacred Mountain," and a family-friendly 6K "Trail of Dawn." Registration is first-come, first-served. The 41K (elite, ITRA 2 points, 300-runner cap, 3,285m climbing, summit 3,248m) runs 8:30 AM to a 20:30 cutoff; the 26K (ITRA 1 point, 500 cap, 1,961m climbing) runs 8:30 to 16:30; the 12K (700 cap, 1,595m climbing, finishing at the Golden Summit) runs 8:30 to 15:30; the 6K (1,500 cap, 617m climbing, finishing at Xuyun Temple) runs 8:30 to 12:30. A national 4A scenic area with its main peak at 3,248m, Jizu Mountain takes its name -- "chicken's foot" -- from its shape: three peaks in front, one ridge trailing behind. The race honors the Ming-dynasty travel writer Xu Xiake, whose centuries-old route it retraces through cloud seas, ancient temples, and old-growth forest to a Golden Summit sunrise.
