6th Annual TJ Memorial 5K Run/Walk

On October 24th, the community of Richmond County comes together for the seventh edition of the TJ Memorial 5K Run/Walk. This cherished annual event celebrates the life and legacy of Todd Jewell, a beloved resident known for his early morning runs through Warsaw’s streets. A dedicated cyclist and runner, Todd's passion for fitness was an inspiration to many in the community.
Todd left behind three sons—Josh, Matthew, and Jacob—all of whom attended Richmond County Public Schools and were active participants in sports programs there. Since 2020, when the first race was held following his untimely passing, the Jewell family has worked tirelessly to honor Todd’s memory by supporting local youth through scholarships and community projects.
Over the years, this event has raised funds for 22 scholarships awarded to Rappahannock High School students. Additionally, contributions have been made towards paving a new track at the school, enhancing athletic facilities for future generations of student-athletes. This year promises another opportunity to contribute positively to Richmond County’s youth and community.
Participants can look forward to an engaging 5K route that winds through familiar streets of Warsaw, offering scenic views and a chance to connect with fellow runners and walkers who share Todd's love for the outdoors and fitness. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it easy for everyone—from seasoned athletes to casual joggers—to feel at home.
Registration includes access to all race activities and closes on September 25th, 2026. Early registrants will receive a complimentary T-shirt as part of their entry fee; those who sign up after this date can still purchase one onsite for $15.
