5K FEST

About the Event

The 5K FEST returns to Bonney Lake, Washington on August 15th, offering a unique endurance challenge that goes beyond the typical five-kilometer race format.
This event takes place at Kearin Family Farm in Bonney Lake, spanning an expansive eighteen-acre property with diverse terrain. The course features both natural trails and paved paths, making it accessible yet challenging for runners of all levels. Participants can choose to run solo or as part of a team, with new 5K races starting every hour on the hour from 8:00 am until midnight.
On race morning, Bonney Lake's Kearin Family Farm will buzz with energy and anticipation. Runners will gather at dawn in preparation for their first 5K run, which begins promptly at 8:00 AM sharp. The atmosphere is one of camaraderie and flexibility; runners are encouraged to pace themselves according to their own limits or push beyond what they thought possible. With a variety of terrains including pastureland, rocky soil, and paved trails, the Fennel Creek Trail adds further diversity to the course.
Since its inception in 2019, the 5K FEST has grown into an annual tradition that attracts runners looking for a unique endurance challenge. Each year, more participants join from across Washington state and beyond, making it one of Bonney Lake’s most anticipated events. The event not only fosters community spirit but also supports local initiatives by raising funds through race entry fees.
The course at Kearin Family Farm is varied, offering runners firm yet slightly soft trail conditions underfoot. Runners can expect to encounter sections that are both natural and paved throughout the duration of their 24-hour run period. The event starts with a registration desk set up in an open field near the farm's entrance from 6:00 AM onwards on race day, allowing participants ample time to prepare for multiple runs.
Weather conditions during August typically offer moderate UV exposure (UV index around 4.9) and firm yet slightly soft trail surfaces at Kearin Family Farm. Early morning temperatures will be cooler with a slight risk of fog or mist due to the farm's proximity to natural water sources. As daylight progresses, runners can expect warmer daytime temperatures reaching into the low seventies Fahrenheit.
The race offers both solo and team options for participants interested in running multiple 5K races over the course of twenty-four hours.

Bib pickup is available on-site near 6:00 AM on race day, August 15th. Participants should bring their confirmation email and photo ID for verification purposes. The start location is situated at Kearin Family Farm's entrance at 11315 Angeline Rd E in Bonney Lake.
Age requirements are flexible; minors must be accompanied by a participating adult or guardian who registers as part of the team setup if applicable. For first-timers, it’s recommended to bring layers for early morning coolness and hydration supplies given there is no continuous aid station support throughout each 5K segment due to its hourly start format.
The 5K FEST in Bonney Lake on August 15th presents a remarkable opportunity to challenge oneself physically while engaging with the vibrant community of endurance runners. This event stands out for its unique structure and supportive atmosphere, making it an unforgettable experience whether you’re looking to run one or twenty-four consecutive five-kilometer races.
