5INCO DE MILES y Las Millas de Oro SD is a fun, festive race celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the beautiful Chula Vista Bayfront. Created to bring more running events—and more mile races—to the South Bay San Diego community, this event welcomes runners of all ages, speeds, and experience levels.

Set along scenic Bayside Park, the course is perfect for athletes chasing fast times and families looking to enjoy an active holiday together.

Race Options

5K – Open to all runners and walkers
Open Mile 39 and under
Masters Mile – For athletes 40+
Kids’ Mile – Ages 13 and under
Doggy Mile – A fun, untimed mile for participants running or walking with their pets

Giving Back 🐾
Doggy Mile proceeds benefit Kane’s K9s & Animal Rescue, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping abandoned and at-risk animals find loving homes.

Inspired by Mexican heritage and the Battle of Puebla, La Batalla de las Millas blends culture, competition, and community into a unique Cinco de Mayo running experience—because every mile deserves to be celebrated.
