This year marks its 54th edition, starting as a practice run for Jim May’s cross-country team in Webster. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the region's most beloved Thanksgiving traditions. Each year, hundreds gather to honor this heritage, with over 1000 participants expected on race day.
The course is known for its firm and slightly soft terrain, offering a variety of experiences as runners navigate through Webster’s picturesque parklands. The route features gentle undulations that provide some elevation changes but remain manageable throughout the distance. Runners will start at Parkview Lodge and follow a looped path back to the same location.
At the finish line, participants are greeted with a complimentary shuttle bus service for those who need transportation home. Live text updates ensure everyone can track their progress, while email results allow runners to check their times post-race. A custom tote bag is included in every registration package, along with choice of hoodie or t-shirt based on when you sign up.
Weather-wise, prepare for an early November day with low UV levels and a high chance of sunshine. Runners should bundle up as the temperature can feel cooler than it actually is due to wind chill factors. Rainfall is minimal at 3 mm, but runners are advised to check the forecast closer to race day just in case.
