51st Mt Greylock Road Race

The 51st Mt Greylock Road Race returns this year with its traditional charm and scenic beauty set against the backdrop of North Adams, Massachusetts. Scheduled for Sunday, September 6th, the race promises to challenge runners while offering breathtaking views along every mile.
Registration opens at $30 until September 1st; thereafter it increases to $35 online and jumps up to a final fee of $40 on race day itself. Technical race shirts are available as an optional purchase for participants looking to commemorate their participation in this historic event.
The course begins at the picturesque Mt Williams Reservoir, located at Notch Road/Pattison Road in North Adams, MA. Runners will embark on an 8-mile journey along paved roads that wind through verdant landscapes until they reach the summit of majestic Mount Greylock. The climb is steep but rewarding, with each step bringing runners closer to panoramic views and a sense of achievement.
Race day registration opens at 7:00 AM for those who haven't registered online yet. Bib pickup will be available from 7:00 AM until race start time at 8:30 AM. Technical shirts can also be purchased on the spot, but they are limited in supply and cost $10.
Competitors will vie for top honors in both overall male and female categories as well as age group awards spanning a range of ages from infants to senior citizens (0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70). These prizes are designed not only to recognize individual accomplishments but also to foster a spirit of community among participants.
Parking is limited at the summit due to space constraints. Carpooling or utilizing public transportation options such as shuttles (which will not be provided) is highly encouraged for all attendees, including spectators and competitors alike. Early arrival is advised if you plan on securing one of the precious parking spots near the finish line; remember that only open spaces are available.
Safety measures include a ban on headphones to ensure runners remain alert to their surroundings throughout the race. Wheelchair users and those with disabilities requiring special assistance should contact organizers in advance for any necessary accommodations.
Water stations will be strategically placed at miles 2 and 6, providing essential hydration during the climb up Mount Greylock. Additionally, water and snacks await participants upon reaching the summit.
Toilets are available near both start/finish lines ensuring that runners have access to facilities before and after their journey up the mountain.
It’s important for spectators planning to join at the top of Mt. Greylock to arrive well in advance of race day since cars will be held back post-start time to ensure a safe ascent environment free from vehicular traffic alongside participants.
No refunds or deferrals are offered under any circumstances, including event cancellations due to unforeseen factors such as severe weather conditions or public health concerns. In the unlikely scenario that the Mt Greylock Road Race must transition into a virtual format, organizers commit to mailing out full race goodie bags to all registered runners who cannot participate in person.
