5 or 10 KM Run/Walk for Mental Health

The 5 or 10 KM Run/Walk for Mental Health returns to Foam Lake, Saskatchewan on June 21st.
Participants will gather early in the morning at the serene Buffalo Creek Provincial Park, located just off Highway 38A. The event begins with a gentle start as runners and walkers make their way along the firm yet slightly soft trails that wind through the park's lush greenery. On race day, the atmosphere is one of community spirit, with families and friends gathered to support each other.
This run/walk has been a staple in Foam Lake for several years now. Since 2019, it has attracted over 350 participants annually, fostering an environment where mental health awareness takes center stage. All proceeds benefit the Canadian Mental Health Association Saskatoon Branch, ensuring that local efforts to support mental well-being continue strong.
The course venue is Buffalo Creek Provincial Park, known for its firm and slightly soft surface underfoot as runners navigate through the park's natural beauty. The 10KM run/walk offers a challenging yet rewarding route, while the shorter 5KM option caters to all fitness levels. Runners and walkers will pass by the picturesque trailheads that mark key points on their journey.
Elevation changes are minimal but noticeable as participants make their way through slight inclines and declines within the park's terrain. Aid stations are strategically placed at regular intervals, ensuring easy access for those who might need a quick water break or energy boost during the run/walk. The race concludes in the same location where it began, Buffalo Creek Provincial Park.
Weather conditions on June 21st typically present with a UV index of moderate (5.6), meaning participants should wear sunscreen and stay hydrated throughout their participation. Temperatures are generally comfortable but can vary; runners will experience temperatures ranging from around 17°C to 23°C, depending on the day's weather patterns.
The race offers two distances: the 10KM run/walk for Mental Health | 10K (fee=CA$39.93) and the 5KM Run/Walk for Mental Health | 5K (fee=CA$39.93).

Bib pickup is available on race day between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Runners must bring their photo ID to collect the bib.
