5 et 10KM du Grand Cognac

The Cognac Athletic Club invites runners and walkers to participate in the "5km & 10km Grand Cognac" race on October 11, 2026. This year's edition features two main events: a newly introduced official FFA-measured 5km run and a traditional 10km route.
For those interested in family-friendly activities, the event also includes free children’s races starting at noon with distances of either 1.3 km for kids from 2016 to 2020 or 2.6 km for older children who raced between 2012 and 2015.
In addition to these competitive events, a non-timed walk covering 5km is scheduled at 11:00 AM as part of the "Octobre Rose" initiative. This event aims to raise awareness about breast cancer while promoting healthy living among participants.
Registration fees for both the 5km and 10km races will contribute towards supporting the charity organization “ENVOL DE LIBELLULES,” with a portion of each entry fee being donated directly to their cause.
The race day schedule is as follows:
- The official FFA-measured 5km run kicks off at 9:00 AM.
- Participants in the 10km event will start racing just after, at 9:45 AM.
- The non-timed walk for "Octobre Rose" begins promptly at 11:00 AM.
The children’s races are set to begin at noon. All events take place along scenic routes that showcase Cognac's historic quays and charming streets.
Race packet pickup will be available on Saturday, October 7th from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bernard Becavin Stadium. On race day itself, participants can collect their packets starting from 7:30 AM near the Hennessy Quay start/finish area.
