3rd Annual PPP3CA Race for Rare 5k Run/Walk

Please join the PPP3CA Hope Foundation in our 3rd Annual PPP3CA Race for Rare 5k Run/Walk campaign held at Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas!  Thanks to your amazing support last year, we raised nearly $15k and funded a research mouse model for PPP3CA.  This year, we're aiming even higher, to drive more research, more hope, and more progress for our kids living with this disease.

Complete a 1 Mile Walk or a 5k Run/Walk while helping children with PPP3CA that causes developmental disabilities and severe epilepsy. 
On September 28th, run, walk, or simply show up to visit with us at 9am! Registration will begin at 8:30AM.

This is a family-friendly event!  We will have a free pancake bar and water along with Chaos Coffee Truck on-site to purchase your favorite morning drink.  For kiddos, we will have bubbles, chalk, wristbands, face-paint and participant medals!  
We will also award First Place Medals to our first finishers (Adult Male, Adult Female, Teen, Child under 12, and Eldest).

Here’s your race-day guide:
Race Day — Sunday, Sept 28th
Location: Shelter House #3 at Lake Shawnee: 3916 SE Memory Pt, Topeka, KS US 66609

Schedule:
8:30 AM – Venue opens / same-day t-shirt pickup & registration signups
8:55 AM – Pre-race announcements & lineup
9:00 AM – 5K Start Time (Runners will begin first, walkers/strollers released after. Please keep to the RIGHT of the sidewalk to allow people to pass on the left)
Face painting and pancakes available 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
10:15 AM - First Place Awards will be presented (must be present)
10:30 AM - Winner of Berryton Blooms bouquet announced (must be present with ticket)
10:30 AM - Silent Auction Winners Announced (must be present)

Course: Paved trail around Lake Shawnee with a few parking lot-crossing points monitored by volunteers. Please follow volunteer and signage directions. The trail will be marked by white yard signs indicating 1 Mile Walk Turnaround point and 5K Run/Walk Turnaround point. Waters provided by HTeaO-Raymore will be available at the Turnaround point for the 5K participants and at the start/finish line.
Please Note: This is an UNTIMED race. First place finishers will be monitored by volunteers upon returning to the finish line after the full 5K distance in the following categories: Adult Male (Hope Champion), Adult Female (Hope Champion), Teen (Lightning Teen), Child under 12 (Mighty Kid), and Eldest (Endurance Legend)

Parking:
Primary lots: Shelter House #3 and Playground Parking Lot.
Overflow: Since parking is limited, PLEASE CARPOOL if you can! Additional parking may be available along West Edge Road and at the Tennis Courts across from Shelter House #3.
Please allow extra time to walk from parking to the start if parking away from Shelter House #3.
