3rd Annual Clean Atoms for Healthy Cells 5K

On October 31, 2026, runners and walkers are invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Clean Atoms for Healthy Cells 5K Walk & Run organized by the American Nuclear Society - Mississippi Section (ANS-MS). This event is not just a race; it's an opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of nuclear energy on our environment. The day will also feature a special 1K Kids Fun Run, providing young participants with their own chance to join in the festivities.
The event is supported by various organizations including Entergy, US Women in Nuclear (US-WIN), North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN), and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). All proceeds from registration fees and additional donations will be directed towards a scholarship fund for graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue studies related to nuclear energy at either 4-year or 2-year academic institutions.
Adding an artistic touch, North Jackson Elementary School students in grades 3 through 5 are invited to participate in a nuclear energy-themed art competition. The winning design will be featured on the event's special edition T-shirts and displayed both during the race day and online on the ANS-MS website. Each registrant receives this unique T-shirt as part of their entry fee, which also supports the elementary school's art contest.
