2X2 Race

About the Event

The 2X2 Race is an ultra sky marathon held on August 22, 2026, in Romania's Făgăraș Mountains. It is the only race in the country that takes place entirely above 2,000 meters of altitude, making it exceptionally technical and difficult. The main 2X2 Race course is 45 kilometers long and features a massive 4,200 meters of positive elevation gain. The route takes runners over Romania's two highest peaks, Moldoveanu and Negoiu, along a spectacular ridge. Due to its extreme nature, participation is selective and requires proven experience in high-altitude mountain running.
