It is a tradition that began ten to fifteen years ago and was revived for its second year as an annual Thanksgiving Day celebration honoring longtime bartender Don Johnson. The race starts in the historic town center of Lewes.

The route is mostly firm with slight softness due to recent rainfall, offering a challenging yet manageable surface for runners and walkers alike. There will be two aid stations set up along the way to ensure that participants have access to water and refreshments during their journey.
At Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant on Market Street, the start/finish area is situated conveniently close by. Participants can expect an elevation gain of minimal impact, with no significant climbs or descents. There will be two aid stations set up along the route for runners who need a quick break to hydrate and refuel. The cost is $20 per participant with an early bird discount available until November 1st for just $18. Registration closes on December 15th, and participants are encouraged to sign up well in advance.
Bibs can be picked up at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant from Wednesday, November 26th between 11:00 am - 1:00 pm or the day of the race starting at 7:00 am. Participants who miss these times will not have access to the course and must register as "bandits," which is a term used for runners who start without an official bib.
The event starts on Market Street, with age requirements being open to all participants over the age of sixteen. First-time runners are welcome; we provide a friendly atmosphere where everyone can enjoy their first race or experience running in this unique setting. We look forward to seeing you there!
