29th Annual Jack O'Lantern Fall Classic

Join us this October 17, 2026, for the 29th edition of the Jack O'Lantern Fall Classic on picturesque Goat Island. This annual race returns to its home base after recent park improvements were completed, offering runners and walkers a scenic course through one of Niagara Falls' most iconic settings.
Registration opens online until October 4, with early registrants securing long sleeve race shirts for $30 (runners) or $25 (walkers). After this date, prices increase to $35 ($150 for five-pack special), and on the day itself, there's a premium of an additional $5. Race-day registration starts at 8:30am in the east-side parking lot tent opposite the falls.
The event features both a certified 5K run beginning promptly at 10am and a leisurely 1.4-mile walk that commences shortly thereafter, allowing participants to enjoy Goat Island's unique landscape at their own pace. The course winds through scenic paths around 3-Sisters Island before returning to the finish line.
Costumes are encouraged for this family-friendly event, adding an extra layer of fun and creativity as runners and walkers make their way along the picturesque route. All proceeds from the race support Northpointe Council's mission to provide comprehensive prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services for individuals affected by substance use disorders and other addictions.
Post-race festivities include a complimentary lunch sponsored by Delaware North Services, complete with awards ceremonies and custom finisher medals awarded to all participants. For competitive runners, $1,250 in prize money will be distributed among the top five male and female 5K racers. Age group awards for both genders are also part of the celebration.
Participants can access real-time race results via professional timing services provided by Race Management Solutions using Jaguar Electronic RFID technology. This allows athletes to track their performance throughout the event, download free finisher certificates, and view photos from the finish line on ITSYourRace's mobile app or website.
