28th Annual Cape Cod Against the Tide

On June 26, 2027, the vibrant coastal town of Brewster, Massachusetts will host the 28th Annual Cape Cod Against the Tide. This family-friendly multi-sport event raises crucial funds for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC), a non-profit dedicated to preventing breast cancer through environmental causes. Participants can choose from various events including USMS-sanctioned and recreational swims ranging from half-mile sprints to mile-long challenges, as well as USATF-certified 5K and 10K runs and a scenic 3-mile fitness walk.
The day begins early with registration at the beach starting at 7:00 AM. Swimmers will plunge into the cool waters of Cape Cod Bay, while runners and walkers navigate picturesque coastal trails lined with wildflowers and dunes. The event welcomes participants to form teams during registration for added camaraderie and a chance to raise more funds through personal fundraising pages.
Wetsuits are permitted in all swimming events, ensuring comfort and safety as competitors face the Atlantic waves. Spectators can enjoy the lively atmosphere along the shore, cheering on athletes of all ages who come together to support an important cause. The event is not just about competition but also community engagement, with proceeds going towards MBCC’s educational programs aimed at reducing toxic exposures and promoting environmental health.
