26th Tour de Osumi Cycling Event (第26回 ツール・ド・おおすみサイクリング大会)

About the Event

Tour de Osumi began in 2001 as one of the sports events of Air Memorial in Kanoya, held at the JMSDF Kanoya Air Base, to mark the 60th anniversary of Kanoya's city status. It has since become an established cycling event across Kanoya and the wider Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima, with local food and scenery at its center.
Four courses are offered: A, a roughly 110 km long course for advanced riders; B, a 45 km middle course for intermediates; C, a 30 km Enjoy course; and S, the CIEL BLEU Learn To Ride, also about 30 km. Courses A and B are open to junior high school students and above, and C and S to elementary school pupils and above. Younger participants must be accompanied by an adult, who also needs to register. The venue is in Hamada-cho, Kanoya.
