25th Annual Leatherneck Run

The 25th Annual Leatherneck 5K Run invites runners of all ages to Woodway Park for an exhilarating morning race on November 7, 2026. This beloved community event offers participants the opportunity to experience a scenic course through the picturesque grounds of Woodway Park, located at Estates Drive in Woodyway, Texas.
Early packet pickup is available at Putters Waco, situated at 320 S. 2nd St., on Friday, November 6th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, allowing runners to get a head start and avoid the morning rush.
On race day, registration opens promptly at 7:00 am with packet pickup continuing until the run begins at 8:00 am. The opening ceremony takes place just before the starting line, setting an enthusiastic tone for the event as participants gather around Woodway Park to kick off their journey through this scenic course.
The race itself is a well-marked and clearly navigated 5K route that winds its way through the lush greenery of the park, offering runners plenty of opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding them. The terrain features gentle rolling hills and flat stretches, providing an enjoyable challenge for all levels of runners while maintaining accessibility.
Awards are generously provided by event organizers with a finisher medal given to every participant upon completion of their race. In addition, age group awards will be presented this year across various categories including 12 & under, 13-18, 19-23, and so on up to those aged 75 and older. The top male and female overall finishers also receive special recognition.
Parking is conveniently available within the park itself, making it easy for runners and spectators alike to find a spot close to all the action.
