2027 Holy Trail Running Festival

Boghopper Races presents the second edition of the Holy Trail Running Festival, an exhilarating adventure across Suffolk's picturesque trails and coastline. This year’s festival offers runners three distinct challenges: a 50-mile ultra marathon, a 50-kilometer event, and a trail marathon.
The races start in Oulton Broad and wind through varied terrain that showcases the region's natural beauty, from rolling hills to serene waterways. Each race concludes at Nicholas Everitt Park, providing runners with a scenic finish line after their arduous journey. The 50-mile ultra is designed for experienced endurance athletes, while the marathon offers a more accessible challenge for those looking to test themselves over longer distances.
Participants must adhere to specific age requirements: entrants in both the 50-mile and 50-kilometer races need to be at least 20 years old, whereas the trail marathon welcomes runners aged 18 and above. The race organizers have set strict time limits for each event to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Entry fees include access to all race services and facilities, such as medical support and hydration stations along the course. Runners can also purchase official merchandise at registration, including commemorative t-shirts that capture the spirit of this unique running festival.
For those traveling from afar, easy transport links are available near both start and finish points for the 50-mile ultra marathon. A bus transfer service is provided to shuttle participants from the finish line back to the starting point before race day, ensuring a smooth transition for the trail marathon runners at an additional cost of £14 per person.
It’s important to note that there are no deferrals available and refunds can only be processed according to specific guidelines outlined on Boghopper Races’ website. These rules include non-refundable processing fees charged by SiEntries, as well as restrictions for items like bus transport and merchandise orders made through the entry system four weeks prior to race day.
The event is committed to inclusivity, welcoming all participants regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Runners can register under Female (for female runners only), Male, or non-binary categories within the male/open division.
Licensed by the Association of Running Clubs and governed under UK Athletics Rules, this year's Holy Trail Running Festival promises an unforgettable experience for trail running enthusiasts.
