2027 Barefoot Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

Join us for the 7th Annual Barefoot Half Marathon on Sunday, September 5th, 2027, at 7 AM EST. This unique point-to-point road race stretches from Sterling to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, covering a scenic route of 13.1 miles.
Whether you choose to run barefoot or prefer traditional running shoes and minimalist footwear, this event welcomes all runners who wish to embrace the spirit of perseverance and community. The race begins in Sterling and concludes on the athletic track at Shrewsbury High School, providing an engaging and memorable experience for participants.
On Saturday, September 4th, 2027, from 1 PM until 6 PM, you can pick up your bib at Shrewsbury High School Track Field located at 64 Holden St., Shrewsbury MA 01545. This will help ensure a smooth start on race day.
Race-day parking is available free of charge beginning at 6:00 AM at Shrewsbury High School, and a complimentary shuttle bus departs promptly from the school's track field to transport runners to Sterling for an early morning start. The last departure time for the shuttle is set at 6:15 AM; however, those who miss it can still park in Sterling and catch a return ride back to Shrewsbury via the race-provided bus service which operates until 10:00 AM.
The Barefoot Half Marathon also offers opportunities for volunteers. Help us make this event successful by participating as part of our volunteer team on race day, assisting with tasks such as bib pickup, runner check-in, water stations, course guidance, finish line support, photography, and post-race activities.
This year's edition celebrates the essence of community spirit, brings together runners from various backgrounds for a shared experience, and supports local youth through our scholarship program.
