2027 Alamo Beer Challenge Race 3 of 4 Battle of Hillotes 13.1, 10k and 5k

The Battle of Hillotes returns on October 9, 2027, with a challenging course that promises to push runners through the scenic hills just north of San Antonio. This race is part of the Alamo Beer Challenge and offers distances including half marathon, 10k, and 5k routes certified by USATF. The event kicks off in Old Town Helotes at 7:31 a.m. for the half marathon, followed by start times for the shorter races.
The Battle of Hillotes is renowned for its hilly terrain that lies on the edge of Texas's rolling hills, earning it the nickname "Hillotes." Runners will navigate winding roads and steep inclines as they test their endurance and prepare for future hillier races. The race day atmosphere includes a vibrant post-race celebration with food and beverages from local breweries.
Registration fees vary by distance and time of purchase: $99 for half marathon, $55 for 10k, and $45 for the 5k. Discounts are available for runners aged 16 or younger. Race day awards include first overall male and female finishers as well as age group winners based on chip times.
Participants should arrive early to pick up their race packets and ensure they understand all procedures such as bib placement, timing chip collection, and proper check-in protocols. The event encourages family involvement through volunteering opportunities for a unique experience that goes beyond just running the course.
