About the Event

The ABP Newport Marathon Festival promises an unforgettable journey through Wales, where runners can experience a perfect blend of modern cityscape charm and breathtaking natural beauty. Known for hosting one of the flattest courses in Europe, this marathon offers not just competitive racing but also scenic routes that showcase iconic landmarks such as the stunning riverfront promenade and International Sports Village.
Whether you're tackling 26.2 miles or choosing from shorter distances like half-marathon, 10K, or mile races, each event highlights a unique aspect of Newport's character — blending urban flair with picturesque coastal landscapes dotted along the Gwent Levels, rich in wildlife and scenic allure.

Adding to its appeal are distinctive finisher's medals and an array of exciting races for runners at all levels — from seasoned marathoners chasing personal bests (PB) to beginners tackling their first 10K or mile run. Each race option caters differently, ensuring a memorable experience irrespective of the distance covered.
Beyond running, this event is deeply rooted in Welsh culture with festivities that celebrate local heritage and community pride.
