About the event
Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with the Turkey Trot 5k or 1 mile run/walk along the picturesque Airport Dike Trail. Whether you're aiming for personal bests or simply enjoying some pre-feast exercise, this friendly and festive event offers a scenic backdrop of serene waterways and open skies. Participants can choose between two distances: a leisurely one-mile loop or a more challenging 5k course that showcases the trail's natural beauty. Registration opens at 9:00 AM on race day for both events, with start times scheduled for 9:30 AM (1 mile) and 10:00 AM (5k). Shirts are available for purchase but quantities are limited to those who order early or arrive early enough on the morning of the event. All proceeds from this fundraiser directly support the Juneau Douglas High School Yadaa.at Kale Cross Country team, making your participation both enjoyable and meaningful.
Experience a unique blend of community spirit and scenic beauty as you lace up for Thanksgiving Day's Turkey Trot.

About Juneau
Learn more about the host city, Juneau.
Juneau, officially the City and Borough of Juneau, is the capital of the U.S. state of Alaska, located along the Gastineau Channel in Southeast Alaska. Juneau was named the capital of Alaska in 1906, when the government of what was then the District of Alaska was moved from Sitka as dictated by the U.S. Congress in 1900. On July 1, 1970, the City of Juneau merged with the City of Douglas and the surrounding Greater Juneau Borough to form the current consolidated city-borough, which ranks as the second-largest municipality in the United States by area and is larger than both Rhode Island and Delaware.
