2026 THE FOX & THE TURKEY RACES

On November 26, 2026, the annual Fox and the Turkey Four Mile Run and One Mile Youth Race will take place in downtown Batavia. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this Thanksgiving Day tradition offers runners a scenic course through historic neighborhoods and along the banks of the Fox River.
The event kicks off early with the one-mile youth race at 7:30 AM for kids aged 12 and under, followed by the four-mile run starting at 8:15 AM. Both races begin and end in downtown Batavia, near the intersection of Water Street and Houston Avenue.
Registration fees include a donation to the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, with additional contributions welcomed during packet pickup or race day. Participants can choose from exclusive Fox & Turkey swag items like lightweight tech hoodies, knit stocking hats, or running caps while supplies last.
The four-mile course features flat terrain and picturesque views of the riverfront area. Runners who do not reach the 1.5-mile mark by 8:55 AM will be diverted to complete a shorter route without age-group awards eligibility.
Awards are presented for top male, female, masters (40+), non-binary overall winners, as well as various age categories in both races. All four-mile finishers receive custom Fox & Turkey medals.
Packet pickup is available on November 25 from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM at Sturdy Shelter and race day morning starting at 6:30 AM at Batavia United Methodist Church.
