The 2026 Seaside Scramble 10K returns to Sambro Creek, Nova Scotia on June 19th, showcasing the stunning coastal trails of Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park. Race morning finds participants gathering at the park entrance off the scenic Sambro Road. The atmosphere is one of anticipation; runners and families alike are drawn by the promise of ocean views and technical trail running along Pennant Point Trail. As you start your 10K journey, the firm yet slightly soft terrain underfoot provides a unique challenge as you make your way to the rugged coastal rocky outcrops and boulder fields. This race has been growing in popularity since its inception four years ago. In previous editions, it's attracted over 250 participants each year, making it a cornerstone event for both locals and visitors alike. The Seaside Scramble is more than just a run; it’s an opportunity to support the community through proceeds that benefit local scholarships. --- The course winds its way along Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park’s boardwalks before heading inland on single-track trails leading back to the start/finish area at the park. At the finish, runners can enjoy complimentary BBQ (hot dogs and veggie dogs) provided by race organizers. The event is open from sunrise until sunset with no time limit; however, participants are encouraged to bring a headlamp if they plan to stay out late. The morning will be warm, with temperatures ranging between 18°C to 24°C (65°F -75°F). UV index at 8.0 indicates very high sun exposure levels, so sunscreen and hats are highly recommended. While there is no significant precipitation risk expected, runners should still bring a light jacket for cooler evenings.
