2026 SAKOB Triple Threat - Race 3

About the Event

Triple Threat at McAllister Park is back for its third consecutive year, bringing together cyclists from all walks of life to conquer challenging mountain biking trails. Scheduled for June 7, June 28, and July 12, this series offers a unique time-trial format that tests both fitness and handling skills across identical courses each week.
Each event at McAllister Park features approximately nine miles of winding trails, designed specifically for adults, while younger riders aged 12 and under will enjoy shorter distances ranging from three to five miles. The diverse terrain includes steep climbs, technical descents, and fast-paced sections that keep participants engaged throughout the ride. All proceeds benefit San Antonio Kids on Bikes (SAKOB), a local initiative aimed at promoting cycling among young people.
Registration details are announced via SAKOB’s official Facebook page by noon every Saturday before each race date. Participants can pick up their number plates and timing chips from 7 a.m., with detailed route information becoming available on the same platform in late May, updated weekly leading into each event week.
The course is marked clearly with tape, arrows, and flour to guide riders through McAllister Park’s varied landscape. Cyclists are encouraged to be courteous when passing other trail users by calling out "on left" or “on right” as they make their way around the park.
Registration fees vary based on age group:
- Adults: $50 for a single event; $130 for all three.
- Middle school and high school students: $40 per race; $110 for the series.
- Riders 12 years old and under (kids course): $10 per event or $30 for triple threat.
Late onsite registration is possible until 8 a.m. on each race day, though fees increase by $10 at this time. Under-12 riders can also request financial assistance through an email to [email protected].
Prizes are awarded via raffle tickets given out to all participants, with the top three finishers in each category receiving additional entries for a better chance of winning.
