2026 Regional Rehab 5K and Walk

Race day arrives at The Mall at Barnes Crossing in Tupelo, where the crisp morning air of early spring ushers in a new season. The sun casts its light over the bustling community, as runners gather to celebrate their love for running and walking while supporting an important local cause. With the race starting at 8:00 AM on April 11th, participants can expect clear skies and mild temperatures, making it ideal weather for those who appreciate a cool spring morning.
The event has become a staple in Tupelo's community since its inception five years ago. This year marks The 5th annual Regional Rehab 5K and Fun Walk, with an enthusiastic line-up of runners and walkers eager to take part. Over 200 participants are expected this year, each contributing their unique pace to the day’s festivities. The event is sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America for in-person races and Tupelo Smiles Family Dentistry for wheelchair events. The Mall at Barnes Crossing presents a walker category, ensuring there's something for every individual looking to participate.
The course begins at 1001 Barnes Crossing Road on the grounds of The Mall at Barnes Crossing. Runners will experience trail conditions that are firm yet slightly soft, making it perfect for those who enjoy a bit of natural terrain in their runs. The 3.1-mile race loops around parts of the mall property and adjacent trails, offering scenic views as runners pass by lush greenery and vibrant storefronts.
Aid stations will be stationed strategically along the course to ensure participants stay hydrated and fueled throughout the run. There's a start/finish area where volunteers cheer on all competitors, creating an inclusive atmosphere for both first-timers and seasoned athletes alike. The weather forecast predicts average temperatures in the low 17°C range with some sunshine expected, although runners should prepare for mild humidity levels of around 71.5%.

REGISTRATION FOR THE IN-PERSON 5K AND WHEELCHAIR EVENT BEGINS ON MARCH 31st AT https://runsignup.com/Race/MS/Tupelo/RegionalRehab5k WITH AN ADJUSTED FEE OF $40 AFTER THAT DATE. BIB PICKUP IS AVAILABLE FROM 7:00 AM TO 7:45 AM ON RACE DAY IN THE FOOD COURT, AND REGISTRATION WILL ALSO BE OPEN DURING THIS TIME.
Packet pickup for in-person participants will be held at Trails & Treads on April 4th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. For those unable to make it to the race but still want to participate virtually, there's a virtual 5K option available from April 1st to 11th, with no age group awards or trophies for this category.
