RegisterPlease join us for the 2026 Keeper Days 5K Run/Walk presented by the Lighthouse Point Recreation Committee on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 8:00am. You, your friends, and family will enjoy a fun 3.1 mile run/walk through the beautiful and scenic neighborhood of Lighthouse Point in celebration of our city and it's Keepers. The race will start and finish at Frank McDonough Park. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
In order to be guaranteed a finisher shirt, you must register by January 5, 2026.
If you or someone you know would like to be a sponsor of the Keeper Days 5K Run/Walk, please contact Becky Word lhprec@lighthousepoint.com for more information. All proceeds go to the Lighthouse Point Recreation Department.
Packet Pick will be held on January 26 and January 28 from 5:30 - 7pm at the John Trudel Community Center at Dan Witt Park. We will also have packet pick up on the race morning, but you must arrive by 7:30 to receive your packet.
Important Information:
* Race Day is RAIN OR SHINE.
* Race Starts at 8:00am, please make sure you arrive by 7:45 am, and that you are wearing your bib. If you are picking up your packet on race morning, please arrive at 7:30am.
* Race will start and finish at Frank McDonough Park.
* Please see the map below for the Race Course.
* We will have one hydration station on the course.
* We are encouraging speed walkers and runners with strollers to start towards the back of the pack for everyone's safety, and to STAY TO THE RIGHT during the event.
* No dogs permitted on the course
* No scooters, skateboards, etc. on the course. Only permitted items are strollers
* You will have 90 minutes to complete the 5K, if you are still on the course when the parade begins, you will be asked to move onto the sidewalk to complete the race. The Keeper Days Parade starts at 10am.
* We will provide a bottle of water at the end of the race.
* We will have a portable restroom available at the start / finish area.
* Please be sure to read over the Important Traffic and Parking advisory information below.
* We are very thankful to our Police, Firefighters, and Volunteers, we couldn't have done this without them! Be sure to thank them as you see them on the course!
* The race and parade will affect traffic on Lighthouse Drive and Sample Road.
* Race participants are strongly encouraged to walk, bike, or golf cart (carpool!) to Frank McDonough Park. Parking IS available at Venetian Isle Shopping Center/Publix (3700 N Federal Hwy, Lighthouse Point). Carpooling is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Participants can walk East on Sample Road (NE 36th ST) to the start line on NE 27th AVE.
* Please remember, the city has multiple events happening the morning of the Walk/Run. We have very few parking spots available (on the south side of St. Paul’s church). The Keeper Days Parade immediately follows the Race, ending at Frank McDonough Park.
* PLEASE NOTE the Police Department will begin clearing the roads and blocking traffic at approximately 7:45am to ensure a safe course for the participants of the event.
The course is the same as it was last year. Participants will start on NE 27th Avenue and will go South to NE 34th Street then East on 34th Street to NE 28th Avenue where they will go North to East Sample Road to NE 23rd Avenue. At NE 23rd Avenue, participants will go South to the roundabout at NE 27th Street which is the turnaround point and head back north on NE 23rd Avenue to Sample Road then head east on Sample Road back to NE 28th Avenue where they will go South to NE 34th Street and go West to NE 27th Avenue and go North to finish where they started.
