2026 Hanam Dangjeong Marathon

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Hanam Mayor's Cup Dangjeong Marathon invites runners to explore the scenic pathways of Hanam-si along Deokpungcheon Stream and the banks of the Han River. Hosted by the Hanam City Athletics Federation in collaboration with Runcop Company Co., Ltd., this event offers two race distances: a 5 km run and a 10 km course, both starting at Dangjeong Field.
Registration for the marathon opened on September 2 at 10:00 AM and closed on September 18 at 10:00 PM. With limited spots available, only the first 1,000 participants who paid their entry fees were able to secure a place in either race.
The event's course features a shared loop around Dangjeong Field, offering runners stunning views of natural landscapes and urban scenery. The route is designed with safety in mind; for the shorter distance, racers will complete one lap plus an additional segment totaling 5 km, while those tackling the longer option will run two full loops plus extra segments to reach a total of 10 km.
Participants can look forward to receiving various items upon registration and at the finish line. These include a commemorative T-shirt with vibrant designs celebrating Hanam's rich cultural heritage, a mobile result certificate for easy access to race results via smartphone, and a custom finisher medal commemorating their achievement. Additionally, both races provide essential support services such as water stations along the route and energy bars at key points.
The event is open to runners aged 8 and older for the 5 km distance, with children under 14 requiring adult supervision from someone aged 19 or over. For those taking on the longer course, participants must be 14 years of age or older, and minors require written consent from a legal guardian.
Race organizers emphasize adherence to rules regarding race bibs; these cannot be transferred or loaned out under any circumstances. Participants who do not finish within the designated time limits may face instructions from event officials for their safety and well-being.
