2026 Gyeongbuk New Town Marathon

On November 8, 2026, runners will gather at the Millennium Forest near the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government complex for the annual Gyeongbuk Provincial Government New City Marathon. This scenic race offers three distances: a Half Marathon starting at 9:10 AM, a 10km run beginning at 9:20 AM, and a shorter 5km option that takes off promptly at 9:30 AM.
The event promises an engaging course through the newly developed city area of Gyeongbuk Province. Participants in the Half Marathon can expect to cover approximately 21 kilometers along mostly flat terrain with some gentle inclines. The 10km route offers a mix of urban and green spaces, while the shorter 5km race is designed for runners and families alike.
Entry fees are set at KRW 45,000 for the Half Marathon, KRW 40,000 for the 10km distance, and KRW 30,000 for those participating in the 5km. The race is open to healthy individuals aged 18 or older for the Half Marathon, while younger participants are welcome in both the 10km and 5km events.
Competitors must complete their respective courses within time limits of three hours for the Half Marathon, two hours for the 10km run, and one hour for the 5km race. All entrants will receive a functional T-shirt upon registration and can request shuttle services from Andong Station if needed. Registration changes, cancellations, and refunds are available until October 8, 2026.
