On November 15, 2026, runners and walkers gather at the historic Igrejinha de Nossa Senhora da Piedade in Jaboatão dos Guararapes for the First Run of Prematurity. This poignant event celebrates health, well-being, resilience, and community solidarity while raising awareness about premature births. Participants can choose from three routes: a challenging 10 km race for those aged 16 and over, a scenic 5 km run open to all ages, or an inclusive 3 km walk/run that welcomes everyone. The event kicks off at 5:30 AM with the start line buzzing with energy as runners prepare to take on the courses. The route winds through picturesque streets of Jaboatão dos Guararapes and features a blend of urban landscapes and local landmarks, offering participants an engaging mix of terrain and scenery. All finishers will receive a medal upon completion, while top male and female athletes in both 5 km and 10 km races are awarded trophies and cash prizes. In addition to the race, runners can enjoy pre-race activities from 4:00 AM onwards, including gear pickup at designated locations such as Av. Barreto de Menezes and UNINASSAU Recife campus in Madalena. The event ensures a safe experience with medical support, security personnel, and technical assistance throughout. This year's edition promises to be an inspiring day of community spirit and dedication towards a meaningful cause.
