About the Event

Held in conjunction with the Murone Shrine Special Grand Festival, which takes place once every two or three years, this race has changed from its former flat out-and-back layout to a climb to the summit of Mt. Murone.
The program includes a 10 km race for high school and older men (first 60 entrants), an 8 km race for high school and older women (first 40), 3 km and 2 km races for pairs and elementary and junior high pupils, and a 300 m Kids Run for pre-schoolers. Every participant receives a participation prize and finishers get a finisher's prize, with the top three in each division honored. The start is gathered at Murone Kirameki Park in Ichinoseki.
