Join us on April 10, 2027, at Pollard School for the 16th annual Run of the Savages 5K. This year’s event is more than just a race; it's a heartfelt tribute to those who have faced cancer with courage and resilience. The run honors Chief Stephen Savage, former Plaistow Police Chief, whose legacy continues through this community-driven initiative.
Event Details:
- Date & Time: Sunday, April 10, 2027 | Race Start at 10 AM
- Location: Pollard School, 122 Main Street, Plaistow, New Hampshire 03865
Register early to secure your spot and enjoy a reduced fee of $25 per individual or $20 per family member (minimum $60 for families). Registration on race day will cost more.
Race Course:
The course winds through familiar Plaistow streets, starting at Pollard School’s horseshoe driveway between the church and school building. Runners loop around the back of Pollard before heading out onto Main Street via West Pine Road to Hilltop Avenue, then Oak Ridge Road, Whiton Road, and finally Westville Road. The route returns along Main Street, leading runners past Pollard again for a final lap through the parking lot, finishing at the far corner behind the school.
Race Atmosphere:
This event is not just about running; it's an opportunity to come together as a community in support of cancer research and patient care. Participants are encouraged to dress up in creative costumes or simply join in spirit with family and friends. Dogs on leashes are welcome, but please ensure you clean up after them.
Registration & Donations:
Advanced registration is highly recommended at $25 per individual or a discounted rate for families registering multiple members ($60 minimum). Race day registrations will cost more. Custom race bibs can be ordered through an online store created by Atkinson Graphics, with options to purchase apparel available until March 14th.
Sponsorship & Community Support:
The event is supported generously by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund, along with contributions from local sponsors and community members. All proceeds go directly toward supporting cancer research and patient services at these institutions.
