About the Event

Hachioji Dash! is an exciting track and field competition designed for elementary school students (grades 3 to 6) residing or attending schools within Hachioji City. The event aims to encourage young athletes to explore the joy of running while challenging their personal bests.
The race takes place at a Japanese Athletics Federation Grade 4 certified stadium, known for hosting numerous athletic events throughout the year. Participants will have the opportunity to compete in various sprinting disciplines on this well-maintained track facility.
On October 12, 2026, young runners can expect an engaging atmosphere with support from local school teachers and athletics professionals who are dedicated to helping children reach their full potential. The event features state-of-the-art photo finish technology capable of measuring times down to the hundredth of a second for maximum accuracy.
Top performers in each category will be awarded medals, while those finishing 8th place or higher will receive certificates as well. All participants will also receive participation awards upon completion of their respective races.
While Hachioji Dash! is typically open to spectators and welcomes all healthy attendees without restrictions, organizers reserve the right to impose limitations based on public health guidelines issued by government authorities or local management if necessary.
For detailed information about schedules and competition rules, interested participants can visit the official website run by the Hachioji City Athletics Association approximately 10 days before the event date. Additionally, emergency response for any incidents occurring during competitions will be handled by organizers but they are not responsible for subsequent medical care or other follow-up actions.
Parents or guardians accompanying children must stay at the venue until all races conclude to ensure safety and support throughout the day's activities. Following the competition, results along with photos from the event can also be found on the Hachioji City Athletics Association’s website.
Participants are encouraged to embrace this unique opportunity to experience competitive track events in a supportive environment that fosters growth and enjoyment of athletics among young athletes.
