11th Songpa District Mayors Marathon

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Songpa District Mayor's Marathon returns to Olympic Park in Seoul with its eleventh edition. Hosted by the Songpa-gu Sports Association and organized by the Songpa-gu Athletics Federation, this event offers runners a scenic course through one of South Korea’s most vibrant districts.
Participants can choose from three race categories: 10 km for seasoned athletes looking to challenge themselves over a longer distance; 5 km for those seeking a shorter but equally engaging experience; and a unique family-friendly option—a 5 km team relay event designed specifically for two parents and their elementary school-aged children. The registration cap is set at the first 3,500 entrants.
The race begins promptly at 9:00 a.m., with all events equipped with timing chips to ensure accurate results. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt, finisher medal, and an electronic certificate of completion via app or web platform upon crossing the finish line. The 5 km event has a one-hour time limit, while the family team race shares the same timeframe for all four members to cross together. The 10 km category allows up to two hours.
Awards are presented based on individual performance in both men’s and women’s categories for the 5 km and 10 km races. In the case of the family relay, teams are ranked according to their collective finish time. Prize winners must provide identification for verification before receiving prize money via bank deposit.
For those planning a group outing or requiring additional support on race day, teams consisting of thirty participants or more can apply through the event’s free bulletin board system for booth space and other accommodations.
