Experience the ultimate test of human endurance at The Iceberg Ultra Marathon, a once-in-a-lifetime racing event taking place in Antarctica in February 2027. This 11-day expedition, presented by Terra Nova x Far Corners, offers runners the rare opportunity to tackle a Half Marathon (21km), a Full Marathon (42km), or a grueling Ultra (50km) distance against a backdrop of towering icebergs and pristine polar landscapes. As the most affordable marathon experience on the continent, this journey combines elite-level athletic challenge with a deep immersion into the world's last great wilderness.
The race itself is a centerpiece of an action-packed itinerary that departs from Ushuaia and crosses the legendary Drake Passage. Runners will compete at the edge of the world, passing leopard seals and penguin colonies while icebergs float silently nearby. Beyond the race, participants can engage in high-adventure activities including sea kayaking, ice camping, and the iconic polar plunge. Every detail of the expedition is designed for discovery, ensuring that whether you are sprinting across the ice or navigating zodiacs through frozen waters, the experience remains unforgettable.
Sustainability is at the core of the Iceberg Ultra mission. Through a partnership with the Ushuaia Eco Pledge, 5% of all tour income is dedicated to eliminating single-use plastics from Tierra del Fuego and protecting sub-Antarctic ecosystems. Operating with low-consumption engines and a strict commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this expedition ensures that your footprint is minimized while your impact on local conservation is maximized. Join the Far Corners tribe for the 2027 season and ignite your competitive fire in the most untouched frontier on Earth.
