The Thunder Run 2027

The Thunder Run returns for its second edition on February 6, 2027, this time setting up camp at the Land Heritage Institute in San Antonio, Texas. This endurance challenge is more than just a race; it's an opportunity to honor veterans and service members who have served during the Global War on Terror. Participants can choose from individual events lasting 6 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours, as well as join a relay team for the full day of competition.
The scenic 4.1-mile loop winds through the institute's diverse terrain, offering runners stunning views and challenging climbs that test their physical limits while fostering camaraderie among athletes. Each completed lap earns participants a patch, symbolizing not just distance covered but also perseverance in the face of adversity. The event raises funds for Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), supporting programs dedicated to enriching veterans' lives through fitness and community engagement.
On Friday night, February 5th, kick off your weekend with an afternoon at VFW Post 76 downtown where you can pick up race packets, browse the Thunder Run Sponsor Expo featuring top brands like Black Rifle Coffee Co. and GORUCK, and enjoy a spaghetti dinner while supporting local veterans' initiatives. The event's vibrant atmosphere encourages participants to connect deeply with both their community and their personal challenges.
With its unique blend of physical challenge, meaningful cause support, and strong sense of camaraderie, the Thunder Run offers an unforgettable experience for all who participate or spectate. Join us in San Antonio to make every mile matter.
