Parnassia Groep Run

The Parnassia Groep Run is an annual running event that seamlessly blends sportsmanship with community engagement and the natural beauty of Castricum. Organized by Atletiekvereniging Castricum, this unique gathering invites runners of all ages to experience a day filled with camaraderie and scenic routes.
The race kicks off and concludes at the AV Castricum athletics track on Zeeweg in Castricum. Parking is not available near the track; however, participants can park approximately 400 meters away at PWN Visitor Center De Hoep for easy access to the starting line.
Registration opens well before February 5, 2027, allowing early sign-ups until that date through a specified online platform. Late registration is also possible from Saturday afternoon leading up to race day, but it incurs higher fees and must be completed via inschrijven.nl.
Participants have the option to change or transfer their registrations before the pre-registration deadline using the link provided in confirmation emails. However, modifications within youth categories require direct communication with the organizing committee by email.
Race-day start numbers can be picked up at a designated registration tent near the athletics track prior to the event's commencement.
The Parnassia Groep Run offers several distance options: 1km, 2.5km, 5.2km, and 10km. The shortest route is exclusively for young children accompanied by their guardians, ensuring that even the youngest runners can participate safely and enjoyably.
For those interested in more competitive distances, the 5.2 km and 10 km courses feature a recreational atmosphere with symbolic prizes awarded to the fastest finishers. Youth categories receive commemorative items, while medals are given to top performers within specific age groups: U8 (mini), U9 (pupillen C) for the 1km; U10 (pupillen B), U12 (pupillen A), and U14-U16 (junioren C-D) for the 2.5 km distance.
